Whole Wheat Cinnamon Waffles
Let's take something that I have made perfectly healthy...
And douse it in maple syrup.
Hey, sounds good to me!
I love making waffles, especially using my mother's waffler. It was her mother's, which makes it pretty old I guess. We still have the original packaging that it was mailed in and everything which I absolutely love.
We have another waffler that's new and it's a circle, but I'm not gonna lie, using the older one just makes them taste better!! There is more love put into them through my grandmother's memories in the Belgian Waffler.
Look at that beaut. Now that's family history for ya.
Now on to the actual waffles! I have made my own recipe making them healthy with minimal fat and sugar. Less fat, less calories. And that's the way uh-huh uh-huh I like it.
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
3 teaspoons Splenda baking mix
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups warm fat free milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons cinnamon (or less... I just really like cinnamon...)
Instructions:
1. Mix flour, salt, powder, Spenda and cinnamon together in a bowl.
2. Mix eggs, milk and vanilla together in a separate bowl.
3. Add two mixtures together and combine only until batter is still lumpy. You do not want to risk over mixing your batter. That can be fatal.
4. Use your grandmother's waffler to produce healthy cinnamony love-filled waffles!!!!
5. Look at the picture below and laugh no matter how embarrassed you are.
