Maple Glazed Oatmeal Cookies

Maple, oatmeal and cinnamon go together like chocolate and peanut butter. Like cookies and cream. Like mint and chocolate. Like bananas and brown sugar. Like country music and summer time. Like coffee after dessert. Like a warm fire on a cold day. Like running in the rain. Like reading through the late hours of the night.

I think you understand.

Maple + oatmeal + cinnamon = a really REALLY good idea

You may remember when I made Maple Oatmeal Cookies. Those were spectacular as well, but the glaze on these cookies brings them to a whole new level. A soft cookie with sweet glaze hardened on top is one of my favorite things, besides bunnies, coffee and Marina & the Diamonds.

Have I ever told you how much I love bunnies? Well the answer is, I love them A LOT. The reason why I'm telling you this is because while I was working on these cookies, I wrote down the recipe as I went on a scrap piece of paper so that I wouldn't forget it, as I do with so many of the recipes I make and then I am unable to share them with you because I have no idea how I made them and it's a sad situation, it really is. Anyways, so I scribbled the recipe down as such...

And then I turned it over and I doodled...

My obsession is getting a little out of control...

So if you love bunnies, and want to make delicious oatmeal cookies with a fabulous maple glaze, here is the recipe:

1. Cream two sticks of butter, 2/3 cup of sugar, 4/3 cups of brown sugar.
2. Add two eggs, two teaspoons of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
3. Mix in two cups of flour, two cups of oats, and as much cinnamon as you'd like.
4. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes.
5. Let cool, then drizzle with maple glaze.

To make maple glaze:
Mix powdered sugar with a bit of milk, adding maple sugar to taste.
(May add corn starch to thicken if you don't want to keep adding sugar to make thicker, which may make it too sweet)
(I did not measure this when I made it... at all... therefore, I apologize. Really you can just wing it. Or look up a maple glaze recipe if you need to.)

Bunny out.
