Kitchen Cupboard Cookies

Yes, I know what you're thinking... "Kitchen Cupboard Cookies? Putting a kitchen cupboard in a cookie does not seem like a good idea." Well, you're wrong. It is a good idea. But that is only because it's not necessarily everything in your kitchen cupboard into a cookie. Just four of the greatest things ever: oats, Rice Krispies, chocolate chips and toffee bits.

I'm not going to lie, I'm not quite sure where I got this recipe. (I believe that it came from the packaging of new baking sheets.) Even though it is not one of my own, I modified it slightly, but only slightly because this recipe was a good one and I cannot help but change things. It's just a habit, I physically cannot stop myself. Following directions when it comes to baking (and some schoolwork) is not my forte.

These cookies have come to be known as "Everything Cookies" in my household because at the time, it seemed like they had everything in them. Since the first time we whipped these suckers up, I have made many a cookie with many many more ingredients than these. However, they are still a fan favorite. My mom and sister are going to see my other sister, Mary, at Villanova University this weekend and I could not go along with them seeing as I'm a very busy person in very high demand (Hah, I wish...) but Mary specifically requested that I send along some Everything Cookies in place of my presence. Nothing like some baked goods to replace a loved one in your life...

Ingredients:
2 sticks of unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
2 cups of old fashion oats
2 cups of Rice Krispies
12 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips
8 ounces toffee bits (one package)

Steps:
1. Cream butter and sugars together.
2. Add eggs, vanilla and salt. Mix thoroughly.
3. Add flour, baking soda and baking powder. Mix completely.
4. Add oats, Rice Krispies, chocolate chips and toffee. Mix distributively.
5. Place dough in balls on cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes in an oven preheated to 375 degrees.
